Volunteer at the College

Thursday, 15 March 2018

We have a wonderful group of young people whose learning and independent living skills are enhanced by visits out into our local and wider community.
Do you have one afternoon a week that you would like to offer your help to us? No specific skills are required, just the desire to offer our young people additional opportunities. A DBS would be required.

Community Visit to Pets at Home

Thursday, 15 March 2018

The students visited our local pet shop and met some of the small animals. The staff enabled the students to handle the pets and explore their food and toys. It was a very sensory experience with some strange smelling food! The students helped select and purchase some items to bring back to College for sensory exploration.Doc1

Community Fire Officer Visit

Friday, 2 March 2018

The students had a visit from the local community fire officer. They were able to explore the equipment through their senses and then see a member of staff dressed up. This is to enable our students to become familiar with people in uniforms who support us and not to be afraid. He is going to bring the fire engine on the next visit!
