New Service Level Agreement with the Adult Education Service

Tuesday, 26 September 2017

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Victoria College and the Birmingham City Adult Education Service. Under this Service Level Agreement, the College and BAES will work together to enrol our new cohort of first year students, while our second and third year students continue to be enrolled via the College’s contract with Bournville College (South and City College).
We are thrilled to be working in such close collaboration with our education partners, to continue to develop great outcomes in adult education for our young adult learners with Profound and Multiple Disabilities.

Finalists in the ‘Values in Practice Awards’

Tuesday, 19 September 2017

Congratulations to Tracy Powell and Abigail Russell and the team at Victoria College for being finalists in the ‘Values in Practice Award’. This award is presented to individuals and teams who can demonstrate quality outcomes in service delivery and is made by Birmingham Community Healthcare.

The statement on their certificate reads:

The students who access Victoria College are a very vulnerable group of people who have complex needs and are largely dependent upon others to meet their needs. I have witnessed the staff providing their students with a high standard of educational needs in a caring and compassionate way, making their time not only one of learning but also one of fun.

Tracy and Abigail oversee the students’ complex healthcare needs, administer their medication and oversee enteral feeding regimes. They also provide medical care as necessary, liaising with relevant health professionals involved in the students’ overall care. The team members gel together, are highly motivated and the College atmosphere is always positive.

The nomination was made by Dirk Perry, Staff Nurse who has worked at the College as a Supply Nurse on occasions.
