Big Top Project

Big Top are regular visitors to the College and in Autumn Term 2020 have been working on a six week project, on the theme of Antartica, where students have travelled to a camp fire through snow and blizzards.

This project was to develop communication, through intensive interaction, music and art.

Children In Need

The students and staff raised over £75.77 for Children in Need from biscuit sales and donations.

Many students chose to wear Pudsey Bear outfits or something colourful.

Sports Relief March 2020

Emma organised another filled week of sports activities to raise funds for Sports Relief, this included a 5 minute bounce competition, medal biscuits being made in sensory cookery, rosettes made in sensory art and then the  week culminated in a whole college trip to Rowheath Pavillion for games and a relay around the pond!

The students enjoyed a trip to celebrate the end of term. They all enjoyed taking part in the activity and having their lunch out too.

Safeside Visit

The students visited Safeside to learn about safety both in the home and when out in the community. They were able to access a train, explore a house with many potential dangers, cross roads and see a range of emergency vehicles.

Graduation 2019

The Graduation took place on Wednesday 10th July, with 6 students graduating. The Records of Achievement were presented by Julie Fardell, Executive Head.

Special awards given to a number of students, who received vouchers generously donated and presented by Mike Hopkins of South and City College Birmingham. They included awards for increased communication, independence and determination to complete tasks.

Spring Fair and Chocolate Raffle

Victoria School held it’s annual Spring Fair and the College attended too and had a tombola of goods made by the students as well as our Chocolate Hamper being on Show. There were lots of lucky winners.

Community Fire Officer

Our local fire officer visits the students in College regularly. There are many reasons including feeling safe with people in uniform should there ever be an incident, identifying people from our local community and being aware of job roles.

Fund Raising Coffee Morning

The students and staff held a coffee morning in aid of two charities, Children in Need and McMillan. Staff and students brought in cakes and many purchased them to take a boxed selection home or to eat as their snack on the day. £119 was raised.
