College Development - Phase 1

Major Refurbishment - May to September 2013

Victoria College is situated in the old Round Table Centre building which previously housed our Post 16 students. The building has been extensively refurbished and has also been extended to include a new classroom. A second classroom will be added in the next phase.

The funding for the refurbishment was received through a bid made to the Governments Demographic Growth Fund. This gave us £760,000 which has been topped up by the Local Authority. In addition to this we have also be installed an external lift to enable an easier journey between the main school building and our new centre.

The photos tell the story and show the transformation the building has taken. It is now almost unrecognisable from how it looked three years ago.

We currently have sixteen students but expect to fill around ten places each year and we have already received a number of applications for September 2015. Our current students are enjoying College life participating in a whole range of activities including horticulture, art, sensory drama, communication and holistic therapies. The curriculum model is based around the OCR Accreditation for Life and Living, Community Engagement and Holistic Therapies.
